Hello, I’m Nat!

I’ve been shooting weddings for over 15 years. Ages hey. I even had a life before this as a graphic designer, producer for the ABC and shooting promo for bands! I pack all of this life into my toolkit and show up as a calm presence with a penchant for cheesy jokes. But hey, I love to see your beaming smiles.

My vibe in unobtrusive but I’m so there feeling the whole thing that I’ll be floating through fleeting moments intuitively, finding magical light, flattering angles and reflecting you authentically and beautifully.

How I Work

My style

I’d say its elevated natural magic? I want the photos to show emotion and beauty. I prioritise beautiful light, colour & texture to make art that is really about the people in it. I’ve been shooting for so long that its not so much a thought as just the way I see the world. My style shifts to the couple’s style as well.

My approach

Part goof, part serious. Like a duck who looks like its cruising but its peddling away like all heck under the water.

I have a very down-to-earth, light hearted approach on the day. I keep it fast moving and fun.

But I know what time it is.

My values

I will capture how it felt not just how it looked. So I try to help you feel the moment as well & ease all the weirdness of being photographed.

I live for authenticity and individuality and I search for that on the day. I’m seeing all the treasure in moments and people.

It’s not about me. I really reflect yourselves back to you.
I’m there to tell your story.

I observe

I have a sixth sense for the special moments which means I can see them coming! I use my ninja skills to grab all the moments you might have missed. Its so quick & you can barely believe I got all that gold.

I engage

I like a joke with people and enjoy getting up close with guests to get photos that are fun & alive. You can’t just be a fly on a wall, you need to get inside it to really capture personality.

My Now

I live and work in beautiful Fremantle in Perth, Western Australia. I’m pretty much “coffee, create, binge, sleep”.
I have two little angels filthy animals (Jack & Indigo) who see me baking, playing and LOVING even more. I’m an ideas person so always have some side hustle going on. Right now its Pattern Hunters. I’m a hippy type in many ways and my partner is an eco-scientist so together we live a very paired back, sustainable life and enjoying sitting in the hammock with a beer & walking in the bush.

My Background

I have a rich history in creativity that colours my vision for photographing. It might give you a sense of the depth with which I approach your day.

I have held 3 residencies as a photographer in regional WA. I had a graphic design studio for 10 years. I had a popular creative blog back when blogs were a thing. I was a media producer for ABC Open in QLD. I made a documentary in South Africa about dolls for orphaned children. I have done a lot of teaching. I ran an art space for a year. I have mentored other wedding photographers.

It’s cool how “all the things” I’ve done have enriched how I see the world.

Ultimately you just have to connect with the work on my website and trust that once you’re mine I will give you my all.
