A dreamy yellow bouquet, a modern white dress paired with Miu Miu shoes, plenty of hip hop and even more mazel tov. This Jewish wedding had all the feels!
I loved the transition from the morning Bedeken* at home, to the classic grace of the Cottesloe Civic Centre ceremony and on to the party-perfect reception venue Propellor. This wedding took me by surprise, you know sometimes you think you have it pegged and then you turn up and this crazy thing unfolds before your eyes.
I was NOT expecting the HORA to the power of 3. The intensity was something to behold! Nor a crowd dazzled by hip hop speeches (yes there was more than one) yet just as equally emotionally tender in other moments. All topped off with some spectacular details such as the floral brilliance of Rebecca Grace, a reception dress like none I’ve seen before (Alex Perry) and desserts to make you convert on the spot.
* Bedeken is a Jewish ceremony in which the bride and groom are given meaningful blessings by their family.
I’ve included a lot of candid moments as I keep hearing clients say that it’s these moments they cherish most. Not just a great natural shot of themselves, but also of the people whom they love! Usually blogs don’t include lots of guest shots but stuff it, I’m going to make a habit of including more. As I think this is what I’m actually best at, being the sneaky fly on the wall to the ‘moments in between’ and often missed. It’s about so much more than the couple portraits. It’s the entire story of your day.
