Sarah & Ben had big plans for a big bash filled with friends and family, that was, until COVID-19 put a big question mark on their day.
With many people choosing to postpone for up to 2 years, these guys decided to roll on with a revisioning of their day. They decided to go ahead with all the trimmings but with only their immediate family as guests. From 100 people to 10 and just do it all at home.
What I love about weddings is that the size of “the audience” really shouldn’t affect the sense of occasion. Whether its just you two or a party of 200, why wouldn’t you still make it the day of your dreams, a celebration of your relationship as a gift to yourself really!
Sarah & Ben’s day was as amazing as any other I have been to. It was filled with all the same genuine emotion, moments, humour & love. And of course flowers, make up and music!
And these guys were totally content with their new plan and not seeing their friends on the day… but hey, when your friends actually decide to surprise you on the day by rocking up to your photoshoot with champagne and balloons, eh, who’s gonna say no to that! A truly beautiful moment in this strange time of Covid.
I’m so grateful to be in Perth where we can choose to continue on with our celebrations despite the pains of having friends and family overseas be unable to join us. It’s testing and it’s heart breaking, but we are still lucky in many ways.
